How to add a delivery address

An address on Nana is a saved point on the map, not a line of text. When you add one, we keep the exact coordinates of where you stood — and those coordinates are what price your delivery and lead the rider to your gate.
This matters more here than in most places. Street numbering is patchy across Kano, and two houses on the same road can be a five-minute ride apart. A pin is never ambiguous.
What we save
Every address has three parts, and each one does a different job.

The street line you see under a saved address is a convenience: we look it up from your coordinates so the card is readable. It is not what the rider navigates to.
Adding an address
- Open Profile, then tap Addresses.
- Tap Add a new address at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Use my current location. The first time, Android will ask for location permission — this is required, because without coordinates we can't price the delivery.
- Wait for the fix. When it lands you'll see the street line, the coordinates, and how accurate the reading is, for example Accurate to about 12 m.
- Choose a label: Home, Work or Other.
- Write a landmark note.
- Tap Save address.
Stand at the gate you actually want the rider to reach, not inside the building, and give it a few seconds. Under a roof or between tall walls the fix drifts, and the number of metres shown will tell you when it's worth capturing again.
If the reading looks wrong, tap Capture again — it replaces the pin rather than adding a second address.
Writing a landmark note that works
The note is the single biggest thing you control. Riders read it before they set off, so write what a stranger would see from the road:
- Good: "Second gate after the blue mosque, green door, upstairs"
- Good: "Opposite the filling station, ask for Musa's shop"
- Less useful: "My house", "Near the market", "You know the place"
Include your floor or shop number if you have one. If your gate looks like three other gates, say what makes yours different.
Your default address
Your first saved address automatically becomes the default. To change it later, open Addresses and tap Make default on the one you want.
Checkout remembers the address you last chose, so the default mainly matters the first time and after you reinstall the app.
You may also find a Home address already saved that you don't remember adding. When you sign in for the first time without any addresses, the app saves one from your location so your first order can be priced. Edit it like any other — especially the landmark note, which will be empty.
Editing or deleting
Each address card has Edit and Delete.
Edit reopens the same screen, so you can rewrite the landmark note, change the label, or re-capture the coordinates if you've moved.
Delete is permanent. If you delete the address currently selected for checkout, nothing breaks — you'll simply be asked to pick one before you pay.
If something goes wrong
"Could not get your location" — the fix timed out. Step outside or nearer a window and try again.
Location permission was declined — Nana can't capture an address without it. Enable location access for Nana in your Android settings, then reopen the screen.
The street line looks wrong but the pin is right — save it anyway. Riders route to the coordinates and read your landmark note; the street line is only a label.
